I'm participating in Chandler's first annual Woofstock - The Great Chandler Dog Walk, this Saturday, Nov. 15. There are three different levels of walks - Dachschund Dash, Bichon Buzz & Husky Hustle - demonstrations, vendors, contests, a concert. Anyway, I'm going to take one of mine (only one dog per person) and do the Husky walk, of course, and check things out. I'll wear my ASHRA shirt. If this turns out to be a big event, maybe we might want to participate next time. Anyway, I'll find out what it's all about and, if nothing else, have some fun! If anyone wants to come and bring a dog, registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at Tumbleweed park. Let me know if anyone else is coming. _________________ Lindsey S. |

Took Sukari and did the walk today. Then wandered around and checked out all the vendors. The Pet Psychic was there and an artist who did pet characatures (we did both). Channel 12 was also there from 8 - 10 with live weather reports and interviews from Woofstock. I Tivo'd it so I watched it when I got home. Good publicity. Got lots of Natural Balance samples and a few treats. Jill, Roberta says hi (I forget who she was with but I bought a tank top and a Sibe bookmark from her). There were agility and flyball demos, and the K-9 cops were there and also did demos. There were also a few rescue groups there, as well as Maricopa Animal Care and Control. Lots of people and pooches came out for the event. I would expect it to be even bigger next year. Don't know if it would be worth it to have a table (who ever knows?!). I saw at least 4 or 5 other huskies at the event (2 of which were way over weight). Anyway, it was fun and I would recommend it to any dog person as a fun event. Wish I could do the Husky Hike next week but it's way too early and too far and not sure how many pets I'll have to take care of. So we did ours today. _________________ Lindsey S. |

| Sounds like a fun time Lindsey. Roberta was the woman who found the husky at Luke AFB during last years PAC911 Renewal event. She bakes custom treats with the woman who runs the doggy camp that I took my dogs to when I went to Mexico. Tom, my husband, also bought a canvas photo of my last husky Chinook from her. So, she is a Roberta of all trades & seems to be everywhere, but I've never met her in person. |

Jill, hopefully you'll get to meet her some day. She is very nice. As many events as she goes to you're bound to meet her one of these times! _________________ Lindsey S. |

| The Chandler event sounds like a great event, but it hasn't been well publicized among the rescue groups. We should get some info on signing up next year IF someone can commit to coordinating the event. I'm spread way too thin as it is. |
